About Deb Gibby

I’m a product leader turned writer who helps everyday people make sense of artificial intelligence — without the panic, the jargon, or the “robots are taking over” drama. After over a decade building enterprise software (and helping the humans who occasionally curse at it), I’ve seen how quickly fear shows up when technology feels confusing or out of our control.  So that’s where I come in.  I hold a degree in Information Management Systems, certifications in product strategy and Agile leadership, and I’m currently studying AI strategy at MIT Sloan. But what matters most is this: I know how to translate complex tech into something that feels familiar — even a little funny — so you can feel more confident navigating all this change.  We’ve adapted before. We’ll do it again. And I’m here to help make that journey a whole lot less intimidating.

There's Someone I Want You to Meet - A Blind Date with AI

Think of this book as the friend who gives you the real story about AI — no jargon, no panic, no robots plotting world domination. With history, humor, and plenty of common sense, it shows how we can navigate this next era of technology with confidence. We’ve done it before. And we’ll do it again.

Invite Deb to demystify the hype behind AI

AI isn’t just for coders, CEOs, or Silicon Valley startups — it’s for everyone trying to make sense of a rapidly changing world. Deb Gibby brings warmth, humor, and clear-eyed practicality to conversations about artificial intelligence and the people it impacts most: all of us.

Deb speaks with community groups, libraries, schools, and book clubs who want to understand AI without the hype or the techno-babble. Her talks blend storytelling, real-world examples, and a bit of history to explain how AI is shaping our everyday lives — and how we can stay confidently human through it all.

Signature Talks

  • Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad AI?
A lively conversation about why so many stories about artificial intelligence sound like fairy tales — complete with villains, magic, and moral warnings. This talk explores how our myths about monsters and machines shape how we think, talk, and worry about new technology — and how curiosity can replace fear.
  • Tech Revolutions: Same Song, New Verse
From the printing press to the internet, every generation has had a “this changes everything” moment. Deb connects the dots between past and present, showing how humans have always adapted — and why today’s AI revolution isn’t as new (or as scary) as it seems.
  • The Intelligence We Have
AI didn’t appear overnight — it has been quietly shaping our everyday lives for years. This talk separates science from science fiction, highlighting how AI influences our choices, creativity, and communication. The focus: what’s real, what isn’t, and how we stay confidently in control.
